Third earthquake in Groningen measured in a week NOW

At the Groningen village of Startenhuizen, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.3 occurred in the night from Saturday to Sunday. That reports it KNMI. It is the third quake in Groningen in a week.

On Thursday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 1.8 occurred near the village of Siddeburen. Two days earlier, on Tuesday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 was measured at Loppersum. In recent years, there have been three or four tremors with a magnitude above 2.0 per year.

The Groningen Mining Damage Institute (IMG) reported on Friday that 833 damage reports have been received at Loppersum since the quake.

It is still unclear how much damage was caused by the quake; some people discover cracks in their homes only later.
