Third – country nationals will be able to cancel a TUA or revoke a visa for breaches of self – isolation The news

Third-country nationals will be able to cancel a TUA or revoke a visa for breaches of self-isolation

Riga, July 21, LETA. On Tuesday, the Saeima passed amendments to the law in the final reading, allowing the revocation of temporary residence permits (TUA) or the revocation of visas for those third-country nationals who violate the rules of self-isolation.

The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) will be able to annul the TUA for a foreigner or revoke the decision on the issued visa or the decision on issuing a visa or TUA.

The OCMA will be able to do this if the Board has established or received information from the Health Inspectorate, the State Police or the municipal police that the foreigner has violated the rules of isolation, self-isolation, quarantine or home quarantine or restrictions on assembly.

It has been stated above that before a visa or TUA is revoked, the person will have the right to provide explanations and the OCMA has analyzed each case individually.

Violators of self-isolation will also be able to be fined between ten and 2,000 euros.
