The Thionville public prosecutor had requested a two-month suspended prison sentence against the defendant accused of sexual assault on his former partner, mother of his two children. The case was raised in late February by the criminal court.
The facts date back to May 2017. At that time, the couple was in crisis. The woman is pregnant. She says that she had dozed off on the sofa and that when she woke up, he had his hand under her sweater and caressed her breasts. She filed a complaint four years later. A delay that she attributes to her discomfort and her desire to protect her family. “It was very clear, I didn’t want him to touch me anymore,” she recalled to the audience, with emotion.
The sexuality of the couple, now separated, had been more widely questioned during the debates. Divorce is difficult. The defendant, curled up at the bar, had defended himself from any aggressive and sexual gesture towards his ex. His lawyer, Me Amadori, had denounced an empty file, violent and unfounded accusations.
