Thierry Henry is about to become Bournemouth’s new coach, as the championship club applied to the Montreal Impact for permission to speak to the Frenchman.
talkSPORT understands that Bournemouth hopes to name Henry, the Arsenal legend currently in charge of the MLS Montreal Impact, next week.

Jonathan Woodgate has been in charge of interim after the firing of Jason Tindall and has overseen two wins in his first three games in charge of the Cherries.
The south coast club, currently in the play-off positions, is believed to want a young and upcoming coach with renowned status, as the likes of John Terry and Patrick Vieira were linked to the vacant position.
However, it appears that Henry won the race and his appointment is beginning to seem like a formality.

Henry had a wonderful playing career: he won many titles at Arsenal and Barcelona, as well as the World Cup in 1998.
But questions have been raised about his coaching credentials after a disastrous spell in Monaco and a lack of experience in English football.
Former Arsenal midfielder Perry Groves recently told talkSPORT that it would be a foolish decision to name Henry.
“He doesn’t know anything about the Championship and he hasn’t proven his managerial credentials,” he told The Sports Bar.
“It’s just a Hollywood signature.”
