Thief Ride Mercy Fails to Steal and Ends up being Arrested by Police

The gang of perpetrators empty house theft in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, failed to act. The three perpetrators who boarded the Mercy car were caught by their victims until they were chased by residents.

The pursuit of the residents against the perpetrators of the attempted theft at the residents’ housing in Sunter, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta occurred on Friday (29/4) at around 12.00 WIB. In the video circulating, it can be seen that the Mercy car suffered damage to the front, right side lights and tires, as well as Mercy rearview mirror is in a damaged condition.

A man suspected of being the perpetrator of the theft with a battered face wearing a shirt was surrounded by a group of people. The man was then led into the Mercy.

The three perpetrators with the initials Y (52), A (52), and W (44) were caught by the victim, the owner of the house with the initials AN, was prying open the door.

“As for the beginning of the incident, according to victim AN’s statement, at that time the victim had just arrived in front of the house, then the victim saw two unknown men prying open the door of the house,” Zulpan said in his statement, Saturday (4/30/2022).
