They seek to stop Twitter accounts with names of disappeared

He also asked that “clear rules” be established in the social network to “condemn denialist speeches” regarding State Terrorism in Argentina, “as occurs in other countries.” And, according to the organism’s statement, “the meeting was marked by the exchange of ideas and good will.” A few weeks ago, Twitter removed false accounts that contained “names, offensive images and biographies insulting to the memory of women and men who are still missing in our country,” the statement said.

According to the information released by the Secretariat, accounts such as @ireneginzberg, @ Desap1212, @ Desap1237 or @ Desap2327, had profiles that had been created with the names and photos of the disappeared Raimundo Villaflor, Rubén Gerenschtein, Eduardo Céspedes and Irene Bruschtein Ginzberg’s Bonaparte, as well as with “offensive images and biographies that were insulting to his memory.” After the accounts were detected and publicly denounced, Twitter proceeded to cancel them.

In this context, Human Rights sent a note to the offices of the social network, in order to make themselves “available” to those responsible for moderation of content to “jointly analyze measures designed to prevent this type of unfortunate events from being repeated. and to be able to provide a better response to the affected people ”.

At the virtual meeting, Secretary Pietragalla Corti was accompanied by the Undersecretary of Protection and International Liaison on Human Rights, Andrea Pochak, and by Federico Efron, in charge of the National Directorate for Legal Affairs on Human Rights.
