The Ukrainian flag was hoisted over the Chernobyl nuclear power plant after the withdrawal of Russian forces, the state-owned company Energoatom said.
“Today, April 2, at 11:00 am, the Ukrainian flag was hoisted over the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the anthem was sung,” Energoatom said in a statement to Telegram.
“The ceremony was attended by all the staff of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, who have been working heroically in the harsh conditions of the occupation since February 24 and ensuring nuclear and radiation safety at the station and nearby facilities,” the statement added.
