They presented the first joint portrait of Prince William and his wife Kate

A new portrait of Britain’s Prince William and his wife Kate is the first official of the future king and queen, Reuters reported.

Artist Jamie Corrett painted Prince William, the second in line to inherit the throne after his father, Prince Charles, in a dark suit. His wife Kate is wearing a long emerald green dress, BTA clarifies.

“Since this is the first portrait of the two together, and in particular as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, I wanted it to suggest a sense of balance between their public and private lives,” Corette said.

William and Kate looked at the portrait today while visiting Cambridge. It is on display there at the Fitzwilliam University Museum. He will be briefly employed at the National Portrait Gallery next year.
