SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police confirmed Tuesday the identity of the woman who was shot to death in front of her three children.
The victim has been identified as Samantha López, 28 years old.
However, no arrests have been made in this case so far, although López’s ex-husband was detained for initial questioning.
Lopez’s murder occurred Monday morning in the parking lot of the MC Beldon Apartments, located near Austin Highway at 7500 Harlow Drive.
Police Chief William McManus explained that the woman was about to take her children to school when she was shot.
McManus added that the victim’s ex-husband is a 30-year-old man with a criminal record, having been arrested multiple times.
The victim apparently had a protection order against her ex-husband, but he had already been arrested once for violating that order. He was free on bail, McManus said.
The history of domestic violence between the couple would have begun to be documented since 2018.
