The police detained the driver of a truck that collided with a taxi last night on the bypass of Vratsa, and the driver of the passenger car died on the spot, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
The accident happened around 7:40 p.m., at the intersection between the “Kulata” district and the village of Nefela.
The deceased was 57 years old, from Vratsa and was driving a Skoda Fabia. The truck is a DAF, with a semi-trailer attached, with Turkish registration, driven by a 41-year-old man.
The test with a technical means reported a positive result for the use of amphetamine by the driver of the truck, the police also reported. A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated.
