Drug trafficking syndicate, Public Ministry (MP) has announced the capture of Víctor Francisco Gallegos Mayorga, known as “El Toronto” or “El Boludo”. The detainee is requested for extradition by the United States justice system.
The prosecution reports that Gallegos is required to appear for trial in the District Court of Texas. The arrest took place at kilometer 204 of Los Amates, Izabal.

Among the drug trafficking charges against him is conspiracy to produce and distribute five kilograms or more of a detectable quantity of cocaine.

“And manufacturing and distributing five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine. With the intention, knowledge and reasonable cause to believe that the substance would be imported into the United States,” the accusation details.
The arrest is the result of an investigation that has identified a drug trafficking organization that has been operating since 2008. The gang is accused of transporting “large quantities” of cocaine to US soil.
“The authorities have identified the requested person, as a member of the organization, from 2018 to 2022. He is responsible for transporting, directing and managing cocaine trafficking activities in Guatemala and other places,” he concludes.
It is worth mentioning that Gallegos Mayorga is the second extraditable person arrested this year.
