In anti-doping operations carried out on Saturday night and early today, the authorities of the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) and agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) surprised twelve people who were driving while intoxicated.
VMT authorities confirmed that the twelve drivers had values greater than 100 milligrams per deciliter of alcohol in exhaled air.
It was explained that the drivers tested positive with 168 mg/dl, 222, 164, 152, 131, 179, 135, 136 and 172, among others, which is equivalent to drinking between six and nine normal-sized beers.
In the operations carried out nationwide, 328 breathalyzer tests were carried out and 19 fines were imposed after testing positive for alcohol and with values less than 100.
State entities maintain that they work tirelessly so that the general population can travel through safer road spaces.
