These Omicron Symptoms Are Most Often Felt During Defecation

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Patients infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19 often suffer from diarrhea and diseases related to digestion. This has led experts to conclude that an increased bowel movement intensity could be a sign that someone is infected with Omicron.

Patients with the Omicron variant of Covid-19 are reported to often experience six stomach ailments such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, heartburn, and bloating. These symptoms complete the list of 25 symptoms that are often experienced by Omicron Covid-19 sufferers.

“We are still investigating what the increase in reports of gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, late eating and abdominal pain, which was common with the former variant, means now that the increase does not appear to be associated with those who test positive for Omicron,” writes a study by Zoe. 3/2022).

This is also seen in the Johns Hopkins Medicine report. It was stated that diarrhea was the initial symptom in 20% of Omicron Covid-19 patients. Even so, keep in mind that diarrhea is not the only symptom experienced by Omicron patients. Generally they also experience fatigue, breathing problems, muscle aches and headaches or sore throats.

The most common symptoms experienced by Omicron patients are dry cough, flu, sore throat, dizziness, muscle aches, and fatigue.

Other symptoms that are less common in patients are bloating in 14% and belching in 10% of patients. Vomiting was also included in the reports of 9% of patients and abdominal pain in 7% of those discharged from the hospital.

Although the symptoms of Covid-19 Omicron are relatively mild, the high transmission rate makes experts urge the public not to take this variant lightly.
