Signs and symptoms of vitamin D deficiency include fatigue and bone pain.
Signs to watch out for include the following:
- Muscle ache
- Muscle cramp
- Fatigue
- bone pain
- Muscle weakness
- Mood changes
Certain people are more at risk of vitamin D deficiency, such as adults and children over the age of four who don’t go out often because they may have to stay at home, live in a nursing home, or wear clothing that covers their skin.
People can also take too much vitamin D, which causes calcium to build up in the body. A condition known as hypercalcemia can weaken the body’s bones and potentially damage the heart and kidneys.
