Sometimes there are ways of doing that are acquired over time and that continue to be perpetrated because they are comfortable or, more simply, because there are no particular reasons for not doing it.

Many of these, however, can cause silent damage that if not taken in time would negatively affect our everyday life. If we think about the view, for example, there are several habits that each of us should change or even avoid altogether. And all in order to keep it functional for as long as possible, avoiding to anticipate its decay.
So let’s find out which are the riskiest habits.

Spending hours in front of the smartphone. Let’s start with probably the most widespread and frequent habit. Smartphones have now taken a large space in our everyday life. And between messages, social networks and information to look for, the hours we spend with our eyes on their small screens are often too many. However, it is a habit that places excessive strain on the eyes and can damage vision in the long run. Tips to better manage the problem if you just can’t reduce the time you spend with your smartphone in hand? Take breaks at least every 30 minutes, and set the screen to a lower brightness (even better at night). It goes without saying that the same precautions should also be used with the PC.

Watching TV too closely and in the dark. Even TV can strain your eyes. For this reason it is not recommended to see it too closely. At the same time, you should never stare at the screen while it is total darkness around. However pleasant the cinema effect may be, in fact, the eyes tire unnecessarily. This is why it is preferable to always have even weak light points in the room.

Rubbing your eyes. Often times when you are tired or sleepy you tend to rub your eyes. This way of doing it can lead to the breaking of some capillaries, causing discomfort that in the long run can compromise vision.

Don’t wear sunglasses. Staring into the sunlight without proper protection can lead to eye damage. For this reason, in summer it is always advisable to protect the eyes, obviously opting for suitable lenses and chosen together with a good ophthalmologist.

Go to sleep with contact lenses. Another serious mistake is to go to sleep with contact lenses. These in fact, during sleep, can create wounds to the cornea. Furthermore, there is the risk of infections which, as you can imagine, are not good for the eyes.

Don’t remove make-up before going to sleep. Even makeup can damage eyesight, especially because mascara and eyeliner can get into the eyes, creating irritation that is not good for the eyes in the long run.

Eating unbalanced. Lack of the right nutrients can damage vision in the long run. It is therefore important to always follow ahealthy and balanced diet in order to ensure the intake of foods that contain the nutrients that are known to be good for the eyes. Here you can find a list of foods save sight.

Get little sleep. Little sleep is also a habit that can lead to dry and red eyes. And in the long run, this can cause vision loss. What to avoid absolutely, especially if you think that sleeping a little is bad, in general, for the whole organism.
