Party NasDem will present three names of presidential candidates (presidential candidate) to Ketum Surya Paloh at the national working meeting (Rakernas) in mid-June. Three names of regional heads are predicted to be included in the proposed list.
“My strong suspicion is Ganjar (Governor of Central Java), Anies (Governor of DKI Jakarta), and Ridwan Kamil (Governor of West Java),” said Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno to reporters, Tuesday (3/5/2022).

Adi revealed the reason the three governors’ names were predicted to be included in the list. Starting from the high electability in the survey to having a good relationship with NasDem.
“Why Ganjar, because Ganjar is still a top commodity in the 2024 presidential election because so far his electability is high and he is still struggling to find a ticket. In that context, NasDem is attracted to Ganjar. If PDIP does not advance Ganjar, it is very likely that Ganjar will be supported by NasDem with a note that Ganjar wants to,” he said.
“Why Anies, because Anies had historical correspondence with NasDem before NasDem became a party. Including the electability factor of Anies who was included in the top 3 in the survey. Why Ridwan Kamil (RK), because RK was carried by NasDem during the West Java gubernatorial election. NasDem all out win RK. Of course, this includes RK’s electability, which is included in the top 5 surveys,” he continued.
In addition to the three governors’ names, Adi assessed that the name of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno could also be included in the list. Sandi is considered to be able to shift Ridwan Kamil’s position because he is a commodity for the presidential election.
“But it is also possible that NasDem will propose Ganjar, Anies, and Sandi to replace RK. Why Sandi, because Sandi is in the top 4 of the survey and has recently become a commodity for the presidential election. The problem is, Sandi is still an important part of Gerindra,” he said.
Adi further said that NasDem is an open party so that it is more realistic in carrying someone to run for the presidential election. It is strongly suspected that these names will be included in the list of presidential candidates who will be presented to Surya Paloh.
“NasDem is an open party. It must be realistic to come up with names that have high electability and possibilities leading in the presidential election. My guess is that there are no other names besides the names that were mentioned earlier,” he added.
