The Xunta de Galicia has ordered the temporary closure, 14 days, of the occupational center and the day center of Aspronaga in Lamastelle after detecting a case of coronavirus among one of the users, as recorded in a letter sent by the Ministry of Health to the management of the centers and to which Radio Coruña Cadena SER has had access.
The Xunta “strongly recommends” the disinfection of the facilities “in accordance with the indications that for these cases the protocols of the Ministry of Health do not.”
In addition, it requests Aspronaga to send the contacts of users and workers in order to carry out the corresponding follow-up and detect, if any, new cases.
New measures
The Xunta’s interdepartmental commission for monitoring the evolution of the coronavirus has decided to restrict the visits to hospitals and nursing homes to protect the most vulnerable population. With this, “immediately”, only one visiting person will be allowed for each admitted patient and for each major user in a residence, both public and concerted or private. It is also recommended that people over the age of 70 do not go to visit the sick or other elderly in nursing homes.
Similarly, the Xunta recommends that all kinds of events -cultural, sports or social- have a capacity of less than 1,000 people to avoid infections.
