Writer and publicist Pauls Bankovskis has passed away, the portal “lsm.lv” reports.
According to the archives of the agency LETA, Bankovskis was born in 1973 in Līgatne, studied at the Riga Secondary School of Applied Arts and studied philosophy at the University of Latvia.
Since 1993 he has published prose, his works include “Book of Times”, “Plan of Ice”, “Soviet Latvian Woman”, “Check, Ball and Rock and Roll”, “Secrets”, “Euroremont”, “Offshore”, “Clothes or Adam’s costume “,” Holy Boccasin tree “,” Good always wins “,” School “,” 18 “,” World history “. Several of his works have also been translated into foreign languages.
Bankovskis has also been the co-author of the screenplay for the film “Baiga vasara”, as well as created the screenplays for the films “Klucis – Wrong Latvian”, “Passengers”, “Burning”.
During his studies, he worked as a freelance writer for the newspapers “Literatūra un Māksla”, “Labrīt”, the magazine “Rīgas Laiks”, later also for the newspaper “Diena” and the portal “Ir.lv”.
