The World Cup starts today

The whole world will look into the future with a ball. Even off the court, the mind will chase a fighter after that ball. With the poacher’s cunning, the goal is to hunt the poachers in the net. Host country Qatar is in full preparation for the first World Cup. The World Cup opening ceremonies will kick off at 7.30pm Indian time at the Al Bait Stadium in Al Khor, approximately 60km from the heart of Doha. The opening match is between Qatar and Ecuador in Group A at 21:30. An extraordinary feast for the eyes is prepared during the opening ceremony. The 60,000-seat stadium is ready to welcome fans.

Fans arriving by Doha subway, bus and car will be welcomed to the stadium with performances by artists from different countries. The large park around the stadium also has facilities for fans to relax and enjoy. The food stands are also ready.

The tournament, which is held from tomorrow to 18 December, is expected to attract more than 12 lakh fans. Fan zones will provide an unforgettable experience for spectators. Music programmes, cultural performances, street performances etc. They are part of the show. The opening ceremony is steeped in Arab traditions and art forms and is full of suspense. Singer Jung Koong of Korean band BTS will perform the song “Dreamers”. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will be present at the inauguration representing India.

There will be entertainment in various parts of Qatar and in the 8 venues. In addition to the fan zones, cultural events will be held in 21 regions of the country. The festivities also started in Katara, Souq Waqif and Mishreeb Downtown Doha.
