The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch gets cross-save function for PC – Gaming – News

CD Projekt Red has released an update for the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that gives players the opportunity to take advantage of any game savegames on Steam or Game distribution platform GOG.com.

CD Projekt Red writes that update 3.6 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Nintendo Switch introduces savegame integration with Steam and GOG. This means that Switch players can transfer their possible progression in the game on the PC to the Switch.

The developer warns players that some things can go wrong when transferring savegames from the PC to the Switch. For example, mod-related bugs from a mod-modified PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may also end up on the Switch if the cross-save function is used. In addition, the Cloud Save function of the Switch will not recognize the save file if the name has been changed on the PC.

In addition, update 3.6 touch control-support for the menu, the hud and playing the mini-card game Gwent. Furthermore, there are now a number of new graphical options available on the Switch, such as the possible to depth of fieldadjust, anti-aliasing, motion blur and chromatic aberration.

Players of The Witcher 3 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One do not have to rely on such a cross-save function for the time being. A spokesperson for CD Projekt Red let USgamer know that it was made specifically for the Switch version and that there are no plans to introduce similar functionality in other versions of The Witcher 3.
