The next-generation update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is arriving on December 14, free for all who already own the game.

As previously reported by CD Projekt RED: Owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC can count on a free update on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A special edition of the game will be available in digital stores:
“The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will be available for digital purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, including all free DLC released to date and both major expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Additionally, a free next-gen upgrade will be available to anyone who owns any edition of the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The physical edition will be released after the initial digital launch, with a specific date to be announced at a later date.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Will Receive “Numerous Additions And Improvements, As Well As Additional Content” Related To Netflix’s The Witcher Series – these items will also be made available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
The developers have confirmed the integration of mods and ray tracing:
“These include ray tracing support, faster load times on consoles, and a host of mods built into the experience.”
The full presentation of the title will take place next week, so we will probably know the details on the quality of the game on individual platforms and take a look at the graphical improvements.
