With more than 97 exhibitions, including 37 innovations, and special exhibitions dedicated to digital system concepts and sustainability, the group presented advanced solutions for road construction.
The power of innovation: electric cars and other product innovations
The sustainable development of the Wirtgen Group was the main theme of all trade fair stands. Between the Hamm tandem rollers with battery-electric motors, the Vögele mini-pavers with battery-electric motors and the all-electric Kleemann impact crusher, world premiere machines and innovations were thus in the spotlight. Two compact Wirtgen milling machines with comfort cab, a Vögele paver of the “Dash 5” generation and the Benninghoven REVOC system, a catalyst for asphalt mixing machines, also caused a stir.
Production systems with potential for ecological and economic savings
In addition to individual machines, the group also presented production systems that provide complex solutions for road construction. It is these solutions in general that have the greatest ecological and economic potential – solutions that cover everything from cold recycling and asphalt recycling to emission-free applications in cities and other problem areas, as well as large-scale remedial measures and small utilities jobs ladder. Going forward, John Deere will offer two wheel loader models in selected European markets. At the beginning of the “Bauma” exhibition on October 24, the 744 P-Tier and 824 P-Tier models were presented in Germany and Great Britain. Both wheel loader models will be offered in the Wirtgen Group sales network.
Digitalisation as a driving force for more sustainable road construction
In the area of technology, the Wirtgen Group presented the digital solutions of its product brands, which already today make it easier for users to operate machines and provide documentation in the workplace. These solutions include the “Performance Tracker” from Wirtgen, the new Wirtgen satellite guidance system “AutoTrac” for wheeled stabilizers and recyclers, the new digital compaction assistant “Smart Compact” from Hamm as well as documentation and optimization tools for Vögele processes “WITOS Paving Docu” and “Pavement Plus”.
Additionally, the Job Management Center provided information on how all jobs can be planned, tracked and analyzed in the future. The aim is to provide customers with real added value with the help of telematics solutions, enabling them to implement their projects even more efficiently.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the group’s corporate strategy, clearly visible in the exhibition space dedicated to this theme. The innovations presented at the “Bauma” exhibition also highlighted efforts to increase the availability of product models with battery electric motors and to offer alternative propulsion technologies, from low-pollution technologies to carbon-free propulsion technologies.
Furthermore, the new and more advanced machine and technology solutions are also in line with the value proposition of the Wirtgen Group: close to the customers. Hamm demonstrated the first fully battery-powered electric trainers. Sealing parameters and operation are identical to diesel engine models.
The MOBIREX MR 130(i) PRO impact crusher has a fully electric drive. The new Kleemann “PRO Line” aggregate is used as a primary and secondary crusher in quarries and recycling operations.
The Benninghoven REVOC system has been nominated for the “Bauma” innovation award 2022 in the category “Climate protection”. A catalytic converter for asphalt mixing plants increases the sustainability of asphalt production and protects plant sites from scrapping.
Among other things, Wirtgen presented compact milling machines with a comfort cab. These are the world’s first cold milling machines of this machine class to be offered with a cab.
World presentation: With the models SUPER 1900-5(i) and SUPER 2100-5(i), Vögele presented the first paver of the new “Dash 5” generation.
The John Deere 744 P-Tier and 824 P-Tier wheel loader models are now also available in Germany and the UK. They will be offered in the Wirtgen Group sales network.
