The wisdom of the great actress is worth taking into account.
During her lifetime, Faina Ranevskaya gained a reputation as an intelligent and perspicacious woman. Her fate certainly cannot be called easy: from childhood she had to prove that she was worthy of becoming a great actress.
At first, even her family didn’t believe it. Then they were in no hurry to accept Ranevskaya into the theater. And film directors doubted her talent. Nevertheless, the actress worked hard to earn the status of a Soviet star.
Ranevskaya never adapted to others and did not change her character. Colleagues knew her as a sometimes harsh and unrestrained woman who could put an offender in his place with a word. It is not surprising that her apt quotes are still actively used by modern Russians.
So, one aphorism from the artist will help rein in unruly men. As it turned out, Ranevskaya had a low opinion of the intellectual abilities of the opposite sex. Apparently, she had seen enough of the actors in the theaters wooing every pretty girl.
“Women are definitely smarter. Surely you’ve never even heard of a lady who could lose her head just because a man has beautiful legs?” — the artist said with mockery.
