German wine queen Katrin Lang was welcomed to her hometown of Ebringen. Hundreds celebrated their Katrin with a parade.
On Saturday afternoon, in the municipality of Ebringen (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) there was a parade of cars, 100 tractors and local clubs with musical accompaniment. The procession went through the village and the home of Katrin Lang’s parents. The people were invited to greet their wine queen and join the procession.

The official reception was at Ebringer Castle. Hundreds of guests gathered there, including former wine queens, politicians and club representatives. There was also clear sunshine – radiant from the sky and liquid in the glass – Ebringer wine was free on this special occasion.
Wine ambassador for all German wine regions
Mayor Hans-Peter Widmann congratulated Katrin Lang on her election to the wine community of Ebringen. The whole of Ebringen is delighted with the success and followed the elections in Neustadt an der Weinstraße or on SWR television. Weinbau president Rainer Zeller said in front of several hundred guests that Katrin Lang has already done a great job as Baden wine ambassador and now she will certainly represent all other German wine regions with dignity. With her experience of hers, she is an excellent wine ambassador.

The last German wine queen from Ebringen 25 years ago
With Katrin Lang, the crown of the German wine queen returns after 25 years to the wine community of Schönberg, south of Freiburg. In 1997/98, Emachen had supplied Natascha Thoma, a German wine queen.

Ebringen is the oldest wine community in Markgräflerland
Viticulture in Ebringen has a long tradition. The first documented mention dates back to the year 716, when an Ebringer vineyard was transferred to the monastery of St. Gallen. Ebringen can therefore look back on 1,300 years of viticulture. Ebringen also provided a decisive impetus for the subsequent development of the Markgräflerland and Breisgau wine region.
