PPF Group – the company behind the Bulgarian television bTV and mobile operator Yettel, announced a change in its management. Jiri Schmeitz will become the fund’s new CEO in place of Ladislav Bartonicek. The decision was announced by Renata Kellnerova – the wife of the late Peter Kellner, who was the founder and majority owner of PPF, writes money.bg
Bartonicek will remain in the company as a member of the newly formed board of advisers.
Jiri Schmeitz will also receive options to buy shares equivalent to up to 10% of PPF Group’s shares. They will be able to be realized after a period of three years, provided that the pre-set goals for increasing the long-term value of the group are met. Jiri Schmeitz is a former shareholder with a 5% stake in PPF Group.
“Our family has been friends with Jiri for many years. From 2005 to 2012 he played a key role in PPF, often discussing the group’s business with Peter in great detail. He understood Peter’s way of thinking and I am very pleased that Jiri accepted my invitation to become the CEO of PPF “, said Renata Kellnerova.
We remind you that the media mogul died in an accident with a helicopter crash in 2021. Peter Kellner’s sudden death was followed by a period in which the group’s management came under the control of Ladislav Bartonicek, a minority owner of the fund.
In addition to appointing the new CEO of PPF Group, Kellner announced the formation of the Family Advisory Board, a body set up to advise the Kellner family on the strategic development of PPF and the trust management of the family’s assets.
