Children remember baking Christmas cookies, and birthday parties must not miss a cream cake. Baking simply unites generations, people poor and rich, young people copy recipes from their grandmothers, and when we come from the garden, we think again about what kind of bun we would pour it all into.
Baking is a phenomenon that simply cannot be avoided by anyone. The third season of Peče čela zemje once again brings whole families together in front of the TV screens, both with Czech classics and with often very original recipes. For example, do you know how to bake a raspberry cake that you know from the jingle? In this year’s series, the audience will also be able to appreciate many works of art, confectionary puzzles, products as transparent as glass, and gardeners and lovers of old lace will also find something to enjoy. There will also be well-known recipes from abroad.
The competition for the best amateur baker in the Czech Republic will take place for the third time. Out of more than four hundred applicants in the casting, twelve of them succeeded. How they managed the individual baking challenges, viewers can see for themselves from January 6 every Saturday at 20:10 on ČT1. They rate their sweet and savory creations Josef Marsálek a Miša Landová, there will also be a pair of presenters Tereza Bebarova a Vaclav Copt.
“The interest is growing every year. If I were to compare, about three hundred applicants applied for the audition for the second round, which was again more than for the first round”. the creative producer approximates the increasing number of applications Petr Mühl. “We are meeting here for the third time and this is a sign that our country really enjoys baking. I was looking forward to the next series of Bake the whole country just like you, loyal viewers and fans of all things baked. And you were really looking forward to it, this time the largest number of applicants from the first row entered the competition,” continues.
“And again, it was a concerted attack on the taste buds of the judges and the show’s dramaturgs, and again it was difficult to choose the twelve contestants. They are here and the selection is great. They are master amateurs and with them we can once again look forward to an exciting atmosphere full of skills and creativity, recipes tested by generations, innovative confectionery production processes and, above all, a love for baking.” Petr Mühl revealed.
There will also be help in the third row, in a special, eleventh charity episode. Well-known personalities will be baking here to support endangered and disadvantaged children. The whole country visits Stan Peche, the yellow Chicken, the symbol of the Help the Children project.

There will also be well-known recipes from abroad. This time, 221 kilograms of flour, 63 liters of milk and 134 kilograms of butter were consumed during filming.
Both judges of the competition do not spare criticism or praise, but they praise the work with the selected twelve of the third row. “During the third row, I did not perceive a more sophisticated strategy of the competitors. I had the feeling that the participants mainly wanted to enjoy it,” he says Miša Landová.
Josef Marsálek adds: “I am convinced that the contestants made a wonderful team and that they enjoyed being close to each other. And because of that, we, the judges, had a great time working with them. We have an unenviable role because we send people home and we have to tell them things they don’t want to hear. And they thanked us for them too, and that has never happened to us yet.”
The presenter pair Tereza Bebarova a Wenceslaus Groomed accompanies the program from the very beginning. For Terezu Bebarova baking became part of her personal and professional life. “I started baking more and stopped being afraid to stand in front of the stove even as a pastry chef. Together with Josef Maršálek, we filmed other parts of the Czech TV series Buchty po rán, in which I second Pep and try to get valuable advice for the viewers.”
Vaclav Copt he also appreciates another overlap, which he thinks the program has: “I think he has restarted the relationship with tradition, he builds a sense of family belonging in people. We rediscovered the magic of grandmother’s recipes. And these are the things that today’s wild times have tried to suppress in families. The BBC came up with a brilliant concept to drive all of this, globally.”
The whole country bakes at the same time with the traditional Easter collection Help the children. The twenty-sixth year of the collection, which Czech Television traditionally broadcasts on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024, will have a sweet taste. Baking for a good cause will be the actresses Jitka Čvančarová and Barbora Polákovámoderator Martina Hynková Vrbová, actor Martin Písařík and a jazz musician Rudy Linka. The presenters will also try out the thematic Easter technical and creative challenge together with them Tereza Bebarová and Václav Kopta.
