Technical experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) commented on the data on registration in Russia of the first vaccine against coronavirus infection COVID-19.

“WHO is aware that the COVID-19 vaccine is registered in the state register of medicines of the Russian Federation, as announced on 11 August. WHO welcomes all advances in research and development of a vaccine against COVID-19, ”the organization said.
The WHO stressed that any safe and effective pandemic vaccine would be a global public good.
“WHO calls for quick, fair and equitable access to any such vaccines around the world,” the organization commented on the development of the world’s first coronavirus vaccine in Russia.
Formerly Russian leader Vladimir Putin reportedthat Russia is the first country in the world to register a vaccine against COVID-19.
On August 11, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that 20 countries had sent requests to Russia in total for 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
