As in many municipalities, the city of Deinze issued a call to volunteers in March to call lonely seniors during the lockdown. Now that we are barely allowed to leave our room again, the city is calling on these volunteers a second time. About twenty good souls have provided a ray of hope in the lives of lonely Deinzenaren in recent weeks, but Chris Van Heule is the winner. She has already reached 300 people and is going for a record 500 phone calls. In total, she will have heard about one sixth of all single people over 75 in all seventeen municipalities.
