So far, one thing is certain: the Warendorf district is one of initially six model regions in North Rhine-Westphalia that will be allowed to venture out of the corona lockdown on a trial basis with scientific support from April 19. Mayor Dr. Alexander Berger as “recognition for the people” also in the Wersestadt, who with their discipline ensured that the seven-day incidence in the district is stable among the lowest in the country. Berger therefore considers it “logical for the state to reward this behavior with measures that create an incentive to be more careful in everyday life”.
The city of Ahlen had specifically suggested the “Cinema”, the art museum and the handball performance center for participation in the model project. In addition, the district also listed the outdoor swimming pool in its application. According to district spokeswoman Kerstin Butz, it has not yet been determined which facilities will actually be used. There will be further talks with the country in the coming week.
