The Pasteur Institute published Thursday the very first study in France on the sites of contamination, the behavior of 25,000 people was scrutinized. As a result, family or friendly dinners would play an important role in these contaminations. The figures for the epidemic in France are not good, Public Health France has identified more than 18,000 new cases of contamination in the past 24 hours. For the epidemiologist Arnaud Fontanet, head of the study “Places of contamination with Covid-19: where do the French get infected?”, Estimates on France Inter Friday, December 18, that“It is not surprising that until more than half of the population is immune to this virus, it will continue to circulate.”
While epidemic indicators have started to rise again in France in recent days, “we always stay on the same model”, declares Professor Arnaud Fontanet, for whom only collective immunization will slow down the circulation of the virus: “Immunization can come from natural infection but unfortunately this is accompanied by hospitalized people, even dead people, or it can come by vaccination”.
Today, 10% of people have been infected, we are far from the 50% necessary.
