The National Festival of Cosquín paid tribute to the folklore of its day this Saturday, through a transmission on its page of Facebook.
In 1960 this date was instituted as the World Folklore Day. The word “folklore” or “folklore” was used for the first time by the English archaeologist William John Thoms on August 22, 1846 in the London magazine “Athenaeum”.
The word is composed of two English voices “folk” (people) and “lore” (knowledge, science), to define popular lore, knowledge, uses, customs, legends, superstitions, music, dance, songs, myths, sayings , sayings, verses and songs transmitted from generation to generation.
