Another large drug discovery in the port of Rotterdam: 1000 kilos between pineapples | Inland

The ships that transported the containers had both come to Rotterdam via Antwerp. The companies for which the fruit loads were destined, according to the Public Prosecution Service, probably have nothing to do with the drug smuggling.

The HARC team, a partnership of Customs, FIOD, Seaport Police and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam, is investigating the cases.

Last year, the HARC team intercepted a total of 33,732 kilos of cocaine in the port of Rotterdam. This nearly doubled the amount of drugs found in 2018; then the team intercepted 18,947 kilos of cocaine. The drugs are almost always hidden in containers with different loads, ranging from fruit, frozen chicken legs or logs, to lime juice, fish and soapstone.
