Those over 70 years old can not only access the flu vaccine from Monday (the starting gun was given yesterday to this year’s campaign), but at the same time they will be able to opt, if it has been more than six months that they they inoculated the second dose of the covid immunogen, at the third dose, the booster. The problem? That they are the ones who have to make an appointment, and preferably online, as Carmen Cabezas, Secretary of Public Health of the Generalitat, asked yesterday.

This group can arrange a day and time through the visit scheduling website of the Catalan Health Service or through the portal My Health (in section appointment). A procedure that seems difficult for these people over 70 years of age, with difficulties, in many cases, to function with ease in the digital world.

Cabezas warned that the circulation of respiratory viruses is already being noticed, which suggests that this winter the flu will circulate, although less than before the pandemic.
The Generalitat has 1,570,000 doses of the flu vaccine for this campaign. The objective of Salut is to achieve a coverage of 75% in people over 60 years old – last year it was 62% – and in health personnel – the previous campaign reached 42.5% -, and exceed 60% in pregnant women and people with risk conditions.
