The HIV virus can be spread in several ways, one of which is by sharing needles. This is also very possible in beauty care, Mother. As happened in New Mexico.
According to CNN Indonesia, New cases of HIV in New Mexico are now spreading again due to beauty trends. New HIV cases have been linked to a vampire facial beauty treatment at a spa Albuquerque which closed in 2018.
The only patient-reported HIV risk in 2023 is vampire facial at the VIP Beauty Salon and Spa in 2018. However, two previous HIV cases were linked to spa injection-related procedures in 2019, the New Mexico Department of Health reports.
The New Mexico Department of Health is understood to be reopening its investigation into spas and recommending former clients who received injection-related services, including vampire facials or botox, to be tested for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
As part of a previous investigation, the state health department provided testing to more than 100 spa clients. Former clients should be retested even if they previously tested negative for HIV.
“It is very important for us to spread the word and remind people who are receiving any type of injection related to the services provided at VIP Spas to come for a free and confidential test,” said Laura Parajon, deputy secretary of the Mexican Ministry of Health. CNN.
The spa closed in 2018 after inspections and the discovery of unsafe practices that could spread blood-borne infections to clients.
On July 5, the Ministry of Health identified additional HIV infections “with a direct or indirect link to the services provided at the VIP Spa,” it said.
In June 2022, the spa owner pleaded guilty to five counts of felony practicing medicine without a license, the Department of Health said this week.
