The Value of the WO’s Action Insulting the Court, Commission III of the DPR Asks Jerinx Not to Underestimate the Law

Commission III DPR also responded to the walk out attitude of musicians Jerinx SID in the inaugural trial of the ‘IDI Kacung WHO’ posting case. Jerinx was asked to obey and not belittle the law.

“You should obey the law, don’t underestimate the law. Just be there to find out the truth so you don’t get wrong in the law,” Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Ahmad Sahroni told reporters, Thursday (10/9/2020).

Contacted separately, a member of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, thought that Jerinx’s actions could not be justified. Jerinx was even considered to be potentially subject to criminal sanctions for insulting the court.

“Brother Jerinx’s action cannot be justified and has the potential to become a criminal act of insulting the court as referred to in Article 217 of the Criminal Code. Maybe he is disappointed why he was detained, but that is not how he protests,” said Habiburokhman.

On the other hand, Habiburokhman admitted that he was confused about Jerinx’s detention. However, he still asked Jerinx to obey the law.

“On the other hand, I am also confused about why Jerinx should be detained. The Criminal Procedure Code stipulates that detention is only carried out if the defendant has the potential to run away, repeat the crime, and lose evidence. I heard that Jerinx has guaranteed not to repeat the crime and will be cooperative. I still abide by the law, “he said.

Previously it was reported, Jerinx SID left the trial forum in the middle of the trial. Jerinx objected to the trial of the ‘WHO lackeys IDI’ being held online.

“Once again, I still reject the trial that was held online because I feel that my rights are not fully represented by this trial,” Jerinx said in the trial which was broadcast live via the YouTube channel of the Denpasar District Court, Thursday (10/9).

The trial continued with the reading of the charges after Jerinx and his legal advisers walked out. The panel of judges then suspended the trial for 15 minutes. The judge ordered Jerinx to be brought in to respond to the charges.

“We have tried to bring the defendant back to the trial, but the defendant still doesn’t want to or refuses,” said the prosecutor after the suspension was lifted.
