The Valencian artist Dulk brings to New York an exhibition with an environmental message and full of color

He assures that they continue to work on the Municipal Falla and that it will be “super beautiful” even if “we have to wait” for the Covid

VALENCIA, 23 (EUROPA PRESS)

The artist Antonio Segura Donat, Dulk, will inaugurate the exhibition ‘Ephemeral Treasures’ next February in New York, where he compiles a set of pieces –15 paintings and a sculpture– that launch an environmental message in favor of the care of the nature with a “colorful style, organic forms and a somewhat more realistic touch” than in previous works.

The Valencian author has explained to Europa Press some of the details of the exhibition, which will open on February 20 at the Spoke Art NYC gallery in New York and curated by Thinkspace. It will be the third exhibition that the urban artist opens in the United States after those held in Los Angeles and Miami.

On this occasion, Dulk presents a pictorial set “focused on the study of nature” and the result of his first-person contact or, due to the mobility restrictions imposed by the pandemic, of viewing the images of photographers (he had planned a trip to Norway that he has not been able to make).

‘Ephemeral Treasures’ invites you to look out “a window to a deteriorated world”. “Nature is in a very difficult time because of being human and these problems are seen in an allegorical and colorful and beautiful way from the outside”, although, however, a deeper message is hidden.

For Dulk, the coronavirus crisis has overshadowed other realities. “Now people only think about the pandemic and the issue of climate change is quite forgotten, despite the fact that we are polluting much more,” he reflects.

After confirming that the Fallas of 2021 will not be able to be held in March due to the health situation, Dulk points out that he continues to work together with the team of the Fallas artist Alejandro Santaeulalia and that the monument, which bears the motto of ‘Protegeix allò que estimes’, It will be finished on schedule, although “we have to wait.”

The artist has acknowledged that he waited for the news of the suspension “for quite some time.” “I knew it was going to be very difficult but we can’t do anything,” said the author, who, in any case, stressed that he is very excited about the project and that the result will be “super beautiful”. EPHEMERAL ART

At this point, he noted that the Fallas have a “very direct relationship with urban art”, because both are “ephemeral art, which has an expiration date.”

It has also celebrated the good moment of world recognition that urban creators live and works such as a falla or murals contribute to this, since they are like “a great billboard for our work”.

In the same way, that these artists collaborate in the elaboration of Fallas monuments is also bringing this festival closer to new international audiences. “It is amazing that the city realizes this and puts us in places like this,” he concluded.
