Open borders for all vaccinated visitors
- On September 20, the American authorities announced the opening of the borders for “early November”. After a long wait, the White House clarified the exact date: the US air and land borders will open to all visitors vaccinated against Covid-19 from November 8, 2021. It is therefore the end of the ban that weighed on European tourists since March 2020!
- The news was announced on Twitter by Kevin Munoz, in charge of press relations at the White House.
What vaccines are allowed to enter the USA?
- The American authorities have specified that all vaccines against Covid-19 authorized by the WHO and by the FDA, the American authority in charge of drug regulation, will allow entry into the United States. The Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines are therefore fully recognized.
- The American authorities will soon specify the modalities, in particular the need to present a test, in addition to the vaccination certificate. According to the Air France website, which is obviously one of the airlines that closely follow the opening of borders, passengers aged 2 and over must present the result of a negative test (PCR or antigen) carried out at least 72 hours before departure.
- Other information: children under 18 should be exempted from compulsory vaccination. The American authorities must again specify the modalities.
