USA give Ukraine long-range missiles.
The Reuters agency cites informed sources of the American leadership, according to which the United States intends to transfer missiles with a range of up to 150 km to Ukraine in the near future.
“Reuters” specified that the new package of US military aid to Ukraine will include high-precision GLSDB (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb) missiles.
These homing missiles, developed by the US and Sweden, are launched from the HIMARS facilities and can hit moving targets at a distance of many tens of kilometers.
So far, the maximum range of the missiles that the Americans and other allies have supplied to the Ukrainian army is just over 80 kilometers – these are also HIMARS missiles.
Ukraine has long asked the US and its allies for high-precision ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers, which can be launched from HIMARS installations. According to unofficial data, Western allies have so far refused to hand over such weapons due to concerns that Ukrainians will use them to strike on targets deep inside Russian territory, which could lead to an uncontrollable escalation of the war.
According to Reuters, a new military aid package in the amount of 2.2 billion dollars will be announced this week.
