If in a region the value of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is exceeded in a week, stricter rules should apply again in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus regionally. The district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald temporarily exceeded this value – even during the lockdown, i.e. before the number was defined as a limit. District Administrator Dorothea Störr-Ritter announced this on Youtube.
It describes the sharp increase in confirmed corona infections since March. So there were no confirmed infections on March 4. On April 2, there were 127 infected per 100,000 inhabitants. According to Störr-Ritter, the value has now dropped significantly again. On May 5, there were ten infected people per 100,000 inhabitants. “So we are a long way from this set limit. We can be pleased about that, but it is also a great obligation for us,” says the district administrator. It depends on the behavior of each individual to prevent a renewed increase.
On Friday May 8, there were 1126 confirmed corona cases in the county health department, and there were 63 deaths related to the disease.
