The American women’s team became the first team to win the title of the W Gold Cup edition, after a hot match against the Brazilian National Team, which arrived with enthusiasm intact at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, in California, in search for the first title of the most important competition in the region’s category.
The United States finished as the second team in group A in the group stage, with six points, two victories and a defeat suffered by the Aztec team.
In the quarterfinals the team eliminated the coffee team 3-0 and in the semifinals they took away Canada’s dream by beating them in the penalty shootout.
