The United States’ Reliability Questioned: Allies Lose Confidence as Ukraine Left Alone to Face Russian Aggression

By leaving Ukraine alone with Russian aggression, the United States demonstrated unreliability to the world and its allies.

The United States, having entered the election race, completely stopped military assistance to Ukraine, which has been fighting against Russian aggression for two years. This position of Washington hurts not only Ukraine, but also its own image. Allies and partners began to lose confidence in America.

This is stated in the analytical article of the publication Defense Express.

There were two very alarming calls for the United States. The first is the speech of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, at the European Forum. He stated that the security system in Europe that was established 75 years ago is collapsing before our eyes and the United States is ceasing to act as a guarantor of security in it.

The second call was made yesterday, April 11, in Congress. We are talking about the sensational speech of the head of the Japanese government, Fumio Kishida, who warned America against the policy of isolationism promoted by Donald Trump.

The prime minister directly linked the war in Ukraine with the security of the Indo-Pacific region, noting that without a clear American position, the situation could become critical.

We can’t do without US leadership“, stated Kishida.

The recent statement by Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu may also ring a bell. He warned Washington at the end of March that ending support for Ukraine would have catastrophic consequences for the world.

Tensions are rapidly rising in the Indo-Pacific region. China and its ally North Korea are looking very carefully at the Russian war against Ukraine, calculating the consequences of such “special operations” for themselves. The Russian Federation, after two years of war, has not been defeated, the effect of sanctions turned out to be not as destructive as it was thought, and Western support for Ukraine is weakening. This only increases the appetite and determination of potential aggressors around the world.

Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, the European Union and other US allies saw the unreliability of Washington in the story with Ukraine. Trust is crumbling before our eyes.

For a number of countries that today are losing the global guarantor of security in the person of the United States, there are no other alternatives other than creating a nuclear program. Some experts and even politicians are already openly talking about this. This means that the world will become even more unpredictable and dangerous.

Dialog.UA previously reported that Speaker Johnson is looking for a compromise with the White House and Trump.

We also wrote that the mother of a US volunteer who died for Ukraine appealed to Congress.
