The Office of Asset Control of the Treasury Department authorized this Thursday the release of funds for the payment of the Héroes de la Salud bond, proposed by Juan Guaidó, interim president of Venezuela, for professionals in the health sector in charge of attending to coronavirus cases.

“People of Venezuela, in the midst of so many difficulties, we have good news: the United States Treasury approved the license that frees the funds with which Héroes de la Salud payments will be made to support our health personnel who are at risk from Covid-19, ”Guaidó reported this Thursday night.

He also confirmed that the payment will be equivalent to 100 dollars for 3 months, for a total of 300 dollars and that it will be made through the digital wallet of the AirTM portal, which was blocked by the Maduro regime.

“I apologize for the expression, I do not usually use this word, but you have to be very cursed to block an account to those who are giving everything to protect our people, when they are going to receive a bonus,” said the interim president during a broadcast on Periscope.

However, he reported that in the next few hours a manual will be released with the steps to download a VPN service for health workers, so that they can access the page from Monday, August 24.

In addition, he detailed that they will receive an email for verification and registration in the payment platform through which the assignment will take place.

“It is the first time that the government in charge will be able to make use of the money of the Republic to deliver it directly to our people,” said Guaidó

The interim presidency has indicated on several occasions that the plan will benefit 65,000 professionals.

The authorization comes a day after the Democratic Action party requested the OFAC speed up the process, given the worsening of the situation of health workers due to the expansion of the coronavirus in Venezuela.
