The coronavirus pandemic progresses. According to official data from Thursday of the Ministry of Health, released by the Board, in Granada 176 positive cases have been detected in all areas of the province. Of this number, 66 people are admitted to the different hospitals. The number of deceased amounts to seven, plus two from Jaén.
As Radio Granada has learned, the intensive care units of the two large hospitals in Granada are today with half their beds occupied. The less serious cases admitted are in the plants of both centers destined for this purpose.
Health authorities try to attend positive cases as soon as possible to prevent ICUs from filling up. If the pace doesn’t drop, that could happen in Granada early next week. Today, at least three middle-aged people are admitted to the ICUs of the capital.
Officially in Granada, we register seven deceased. The last one was an 84-year-old woman. To these figures we must add the two people from Alcalá la Real, computable to the Jaén statistics, who died in Granada hospitals. Throughout Andalusia, the number of deceased amounts to 23.
Disinfection in La Zubia
Military personnel from the UME disinfect the Balcón de La Zubia residence at noon on Thursday, where four inmates have died from coronavirus and 29 remain isolated on the upper floor of the center. Several workers are also in quarantine and sick.

Worrying situation in the residences
Comisiones Obreras has asked the Ministry of Health to carry out the coronavirus test on workers in nursing homes to avoid infections. The union has urgently demanded the supply of equipment or else care for the elderly in the nursing homes will collapse.
