Incorrectly parked small electric vehicles from the sharing provider Enuu have caused criticism in recent months. Now the city has decided: Enuu can stay, but with significantly fewer vehicles and stricter requirements. Enuu now wants to implement this.
–
With the previous permit, Enuu was able to offer up to 150 of the small rental cars in the city of Zurich. On sidewalks and cycle paths or other vehicles parked incorrectly by users, however, complaints were repeatedly made to the city.
Enuu’s approval has now been extended until the end of the year, as Robert Soós of the city security department said on Thursday when asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency. However, instead of the maximum of 150 previously, the company will now only be allowed 20 vehicles across the entire city area.
–
In addition, incorrectly parked vehicles must be re-parked within two hours instead of the previous 24 hours. Vehicles hindering traffic must be removed immediately as before. There must now be a distance of at least 200 meters between parked vehicles.

The fact that the population did not get warm with the companions was also evident everywhere in the cityscape. There were demolished electric cars everywhere. Either they became victims of blind rage – or rascals used them for pranks: one organized races on Sechseläutenplatz, or heaved them into fountains or on benches. Enuu-Mobile with intact rear-view mirrors are also a rarity.
–
At the beginning of April, Enuu-Co founder Luca Placi said to BLICK: «Unfortunately, vandalism is also a well-known topic for us. Especially at the beginning, when the Enuus were new in Zurich, we saw high losses. Once the vehicles are established in the cityscape, the damage decreases. However, we will now add an alarm to every vehicle that will start beeping if an attempt is made to tip the vehicle over. »
–
Upon request, the sharing provider Enuu announced that the operation would continue despite restrictions. However, they are currently working on a new application to better meet the needs of the city of Zurich.

Enuu’s electric vehicles are approved on bike paths and may or must park in parking spaces for bicycles or motorbikes – which of course in turn annoys two-wheelers. (SDA / gust)
