Aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine made 18 hits on the enemy on 5 January, three of them on positions of anti-aircraft missile complexes. The Ukrainian defenders also shot down a Russian attack aircraft and a Su-25 helicopter.
This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a post on Facebook, quoted by Ukrinform.
“During the day, the Ukrainian Air Force carried out 15 strikes on enemy concentration areas, as well as three strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. At the same time, our defenders shot down enemy Su-25 and Mi-25 aircraft. 8 helicopters,” the report reads.
The units of the rocket troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, in turn it hit an area of concentration of military manpower and equipment of the invaders.

On January 5th Russian troops carried out eight air strikes and more than ten attacks with blank rocket systems.
The threat of air and missile attacks on critical infrastructure in Ukraine remains.
According to the report, Russian troops concentrated their main efforts on attempts for the complete capture of the Donetsk region within its administrative borders. Russian forces are conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Liman area.
Meanwhile, the military-political leadership of Russia, according to the General Staff, takes measures to prevent mass desertions from military service abroad before the next wave of mobilization scheduled for January. An absolute ban on crossing the state border for the military is also not excluded.
In the temporarily occupied and occupied territories of the Luhansk region the forced passport of the population continues. Local banking institutions require Russian passports to issue payment cards.
