What an activity! Always on the move to clear the mark and offer solutions to his team-mates, the Lensois captain was rewarded for his efforts by scoring a decisive goal from a superb sequence in the Clermont box. His work on the recovery and his percussion with the ball and chain were also invaluable for the Sang et Or. A match for the boss!
Maxime Dup (Toulouse)
The Toulouse goalkeeper was impressive. He saves his team twice against Terrier and Gouiri after Bourigeaud’s lead. On his return from the dressing room, he made four more saves in front of the Rennes forwards to prevent the Pitchounes from sinking. Very important match despite the two goals conceded.
Achraf Hakimi (Paris SG)
Solid game from the Moroccan right-back, who in addition to not having worried in the lane, offered himself an attacking goal between his sharp appeal and his perfect finish with a flat foot. There was the same waste in certain offensives.
Tiago Djalo (Lille)
Like his start to the season, the Portuguese centre-back was once again prominent. Thanks to his power he was able to block the Angevin attacks. Better yet, the Lusitano offered his team the victory with a corner kick from Cabella.
Dante (Nice)
The Nice captain has offered a boss match! Clever in his positioning and reading of the game, the defender shut down the Lyon forwards by cutting all passes in the direction of his surface. Also noteworthy is his rescue in front of Lacazette after the Tagliafico post. If OL has long been impotent offensively, it is largely because of him.
Nuno Mendes (Paris SG)
In line with his performance since the start of the season, the Portuguese left-back has responded. Carried forward, he is a decisive passer for Mbapp in the opening before offering a new caviar from Soler for the counterattack goal. Important up front, solid behind, the young Lusitanian has sent a clear message to Fernando Santos for the World Championship.
Lovro Majer (Rennes)
Excellent game for the Croatian midfielder, who showed off his technical palette at Roazhon Park. He provided a delightful decisive pass to Bourigeaud with the opening outside of his foot and found himself involved on the second goal with a clever delay before slotting the ball into Terrier.
Danilo Pereira (Paris SG)
Another good performance from the Portuguese midfielder, very effective in recovery. His ability to read opponents’ passes to cut the relationship between midfielders and forwards once again made the difference. A sure value.
Benjamin Bourgeaud (Rennes)
An excellent match for the Rennes attacking midfielder. Indestructible, he has been to the oven and the mill, multiplying the technical gestures to delight his audience. He is the one who launches his team perfectly by opening the buoy on an action in which he was at the start and at the end. A high-end copy for the soul of Rennes.
Dimitri Payet (Marseille)
It took a hero, the Olympique de Marseille captain has decided to put on the cape. Coming on shortly after the hour after Harit’s injury, the playmaker initially had difficulty putting himself out there… before being decisive. Implicated in a scrambled way on Veretout’s equalizer, he is the one who obtains the winning free-kick which he deposits on Kolasinac’s head in extra time. At the final whistle, his associates and even Igor Tudor logically came to congratulate him.
Youcef Belaili (Ajaccio)
One week after his brace against Strasbourg, the Algerian striker hurt his opponent once again. Stirring, he came close to opening twice in the first period. After the break, Ajaccien opened the scoring from a penalty and distilled a superb ball from the outside foot for Hamouma’s break goal. He goes out 1-2, leaving his team without creativity.
