The TuS women narrowly missed a draw twice

Kremmünster. Despite three defeats, the women’s team of the Turn- und Sportverein (TuS) Raiffeisen Kremsmünster is in 9th place in the 2nd Bundesliga for table tennis.

The women of the gymnastics and sports club (TuS) Raiffeisen Kremsmünster had to do without their number 1, Edith Gruber, as planned for the 2nd Bundesliga games in Salzburg. Birgit Eschinger, who got married a month ago and still has a training deficit, played for the first time. Since Verena Rösner has only trained once since April and is competing for the first time since her long injury break, no one expected to earn anything this weekend. Yet the TuS women’s team twice had the opportunity to draw and thus a decisive game for victory in a doubles final. Despite the three defeats, the TuS team is in 9th place in the table, as the immediate table neighbors also failed to score.

results in detail

Feldkirch – TuS Raiffeisen Kremsmunster: 5/1

For TuS: Doris Kronsteiner 1/1, Verena Rösner and Lisa Murauer each 0/1, Birgit Eglseer 0/2

Doris Kronsteiner got the point of honor against Amann against the women from Feldkirch (V), who are in 4th place in the standings. The women from Vorarlberg, who are in 3rd place in the table, behaved too evenly.

TuS Raiffeisen Kremsmünster – Baden: 2/4

For TuS: Doris Kronsteiner and Verena Rösner each 1/1, Birgit Egelsser and Lisa Murauer each 0/1

Both Kronsteiner and Rösner clearly won against Kopeinig. In the decisive game for the tie, Doris Kronsteiner was narrowly defeated by Tihak with 2/3 in the deciding set. All in all a good game against the ladies from Baden, who are in 5th place in the table.

Voitsberg – TuS Raiffeisen Kremsmunster: 4/2

For the TuS: Birgit Eglseeer and Verena Rösner each 1/1, Doris Kronsteiner 0/2

Voitsberg first appeared in this game with Tom Nguya Le (Vietnam) and Strutynska (Ukraine) with two legionnaires. Since the third player, Julia Pfeifenberger, also comes from another club, not a single player came from Voitsberg. Birgit Eglseer, who played for TuS for the first time, was able to prevail in her first single against Pfeifenberger in a great match in the fifth set. Since the strong Vietnamese was able to win both games as expected, TuS’s chances were as slim as expected. But Verena Rösner struck the bird and beat Ukrainian Strutynska with 3/2 after a match to be seen. A great performance by the self-taught player TuS, who was injured for a long time.
