The Truth About Popular Food Additives: A Negative Impact on Russian Health

Most popular food additives among Russians do not have a positive impact on health.

Waste

In the family budget of many families there is a special item of expenditure – for vitamins. Taking dietary supplements has become as natural and habitual as brushing your teeth in the morning. For the sake of improving health, people do not spare money for the purchase of vitamin complexes. However, according to nutritionist Anastasia Solchnova, not all drugs have the characteristics stated on the package.

The expert listed the most popular “pacifiers” among the people.

Multivitamin complexes. They are usually bought to save money. Like, for one price, 5-10 useful trace elements at once. Alas, a miracle does not happen: a positive effect from them cannot be expected in the foreseeable future. It is easy to check this – just take a blood test for a number of trace elements.

Dietary supplements that give youth and slow down aging. All the promises of manufacturers about getting rid of toxins, improving skin elasticity, improving blood circulation and other changes are a complete myth. Even certified medicines cannot cope with such a voluminous task. And BADam – even more so. if you want to live longer and look good at the same time – eat less, give up bad habits and make friends with sports.

Vitamin D tablets. It is very poorly absorbed in this form. It is much more efficient to replenish supplies by walking in the fresh air and increasing servings of seafood, sea fish, eggs and other foods that definitely have vitamin D and are well absorbed.

Omega 3. As a rule, these are the most expensive dietary supplements in pharmacies. However, is it worth spending a lot of money if you can find fatty acids not only in expensive salmon, but also in ordinary herring, nuts, avocados, vegetable sunflower oil?

Vitamin C. Another myth on which people spend large amounts every month. Getting vitamin C from foods is easy: eat citrus fruits, as well as sauerkraut and bell peppers. They are tasty, healthy and are much cheaper than bright packages of incomprehensible dietary supplements.
