A few days ago, the Athletics Integrity Unit (the anti-doping organization at World Athletics, the world athletics federation) reported four cases of positive anti-doping test results during the Olympic Games. Among them are, among others Chijindu Ujah, who together with his friends reached for the silver medal in the 4×100 meters relay. In the athlete’s body, anabolic agents supporting muscle building have been found.

“I’m not a cheat”

The information about the positive result of the anti-doping test also surprised the British sprinter himself. Chijindu Ujah has categorically denied that it is being used doping.

Quick end! Discipline disappears from the Games. “I don’t understand this decision”

– Just to be clear – I’m not a cheat. I have never and would never consciously take a banned substance – said Ujah in an interview with the PA agency. – I am completely shocked and devastated by this information. I love my sport, I know my duties as both an athlete and a team member – he added.

“I respect the formalities that are going on and will not comment any more until I see it appropriate,” he concluded.

The 27-year-old is threatened with taking the medal of the Olympic Games. If this happens, the other members of the relay team will also lose pucks: Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, Richard Kilty and Zharnel Hughes. So far, nothing is known about their doping as well.
