The “Theater for All” initiative was launched in Bulgarovo – 2024-03-05 09:41:08

The actors from the “Talentino” theater group and the director Stanimir Karagyozov delighted the residents and guests of Bulgarovo with the performance “Women’s Kingdom” according to St. L. Kostov. The performance marked the beginning of the initiative “Theatre for All”, undertaken by the municipal councilor from GERB-Burgas Yasen Prodanov.

A few months ago, Prodanov, who is part of the big family of “Talentino”, made a promise to make the theatrical art accessible to all populated places in the municipality of Burgas.

“Theatre for All” aims to bring the magic of theater to every neighborhood and constituent settlement of Burgas, where people rarely have the opportunity to enjoy this art. The important thing is that the performances will be of the amateur theater schools of the city, who will get a chance to go on stage and show the results of their work and talent. And you can be sure that there are many talented people in Burgas”, comments Yasen Prodanov.

He personally took over the overall organization, logistics, transport, promotion and implementation of the performances in the Burgas neighborhoods.

“The first production was with free entrance as a gesture to the residents of Bulgarovo. But the idea is that community centers sell tickets at prices that they set themselves, and then the funds generated are invested in their activities – dance, singing ensembles and schools, heating, repairs, etc.,” said the municipal councilor.

Prodanov stressed that in the coming years the people of art and culture in Burgas will have even more opportunities to develop their activities.

“I am happy that we are thinking in the same direction with the Municipality of Burgas and the Department of Culture. Soon they are starting the Accessible Culture program, consisting of several strands that cover some of my idea and expand it to the other performing arts. This does not mean that “Theatre for All” will not continue, but simply that my fellow theater actors will have more opportunities to perform on stage,” he explained.

A month ago, Yasen Prodanov, together with the Chairman of the Municipal Council in Burgas Mihail Hadjiyanev, submitted a report on expanding the scope and budget of the “Accessible Culture” program. At the budget session of the Municipal Council, the proposal was supported by all municipal councilors.

Thus, the financial framework of the program is now BGN 20,000. For the first 3 directions, the funds are a total of BGN 10,000, and for direction 4 another BGN 10,000.

– Direction 1 – Supporting creative associations and individual artists to present a finished cultural product in neighborhoods and constituent settlements. Eligible costs that are financed are: transport, technical support and other specific activities related to the realization of the cultural product.

– Direction 2 – Provision of opportunities for creative associations – children’s creative schools, studios, groups, ensembles, etc. for visiting paid cultural events – performances, concerts, theater productions, exhibitions and others in the municipality of Burgas, by means of purchasing tickets. Creative associations can be supported in this direction no more than twice within the calendar year.

– Direction 3 – Provision of funds for a transport service to a group of citizens, not less than 20 people from constituent settlements of the Municipality of Burgas, for visits to cultural events in the municipal center.

– Direction 4 – Supporting creative associations and individual artists for preparation and participation in national and international competitions and events. Eligible costs are for the rental of training and rehearsal spaces, fees for teachers and speakers and other specific activities related to preparation and participation, excluding transport costs.
